PHILIP’S ACADEMY CHARTER SCHOOL NEWARK IS COMMITTED TO HELPING ITS YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN, WITH LOVE AND SUPPORT, TO BUILD A STRONG FOUNDATION FOR LIFE.
At Philip’s Academy, learning happens everywhere, both inside and outside the classroom. Teachers teach the standard curriculum—math, science, and history—at the same time that they instill a hunger and determination in their students to forge their own life path, make their dreams come true, and reach for the best they can be.
Philip’s Academy Charter School Newark was formerly known as St. Philip’s Academy. It was established, in 1988, by the Episcopal Church as a privately-funded, independent school. In 2013, it became a non-sectarian, K-8 charter school, open to students living in Newark and Irvington.
